Challenge
Most travel bags ask users to compromise. Some look sleek but fail in function. Others carry everything but feel bulky, awkward, or overbuilt. Many ignore how people actually move through travel: shifting between airports, city streets, workspaces, road trips, and everyday carry.
Solution
I designed the Breaker One Bag as a versatile travel backpack built around real user needs. It combined structured storage, secure hidden pockets, dedicated laptop protection, weather-resistant materials, and multiple carry modes into a clean, premium silhouette.
Process
I led the project from first sketch to final shipment. That included concept development, feature planning, industrial design, soft goods layout, prototype reviews, supplier sourcing, factory communication, sample refinement, and production decisions.
Launch, Funding & Production
Breaker Bags was successfully funded on Kickstarter, raising $25,743, reaching 128% funding, and earning support from 140 backers. Every order was fulfilled. I created and directed nearly every part of the launch, from product positioning and photography to campaign storytelling, social content, and customer communication. After the campaign, we gathered backer feedback, traveled to Dongguan, China in 2018, and worked directly with our manufacturing partner to refine the final product before production. We also grew the brand on Instagram to 1,745 followers and partnered with Moment to help sponsor their “There There” contest.
